You guys aren't going to believe this. Rumor has it that starting Monday, all orders will have a 4 hour turnaround. ALL. 4 hours. There will be a few stipulations, but they are dead-set on making this happen. There is so much wrong with this. NO thought was put into this. Jim and I stood here and within 4 MINUTES we had it shredded.

The upshot is that everything will be done before I get here.

The downside is that the homicide rate at FedEx Kinko's around the world will increase exponentially.

I see this idea lasting about 4 hours and 15 minutes.

Yep. That's basically where I'm at.

With a snort and a slight maniacal giggle.

Wait, they're implementing this policy... while Brian still works there?
Does this include FAA and other such huge runs? Some jobs have longer than a 4 hour runtime. Hell, they did jobs that had a 4 MONTH turnaround time when I worked there!
If they're going to raise the stress levels of Kinko's employees by that much, are they going to compensate the employees with a higher pay rate (I'm guessing not)? I thought the best philosophy was to work smarter, NOT HARDER! This is definitely NOT smart, and is bound to be nearly IMPOSSIBLE!
Once again, I'm glad I don't work there anymore!

I'm sure it that the jobs we get that involve upwards of 24 hours of machine time are excluded. I'm thinking that's what I'll be doing.

All gument, all the time. Running, collating, packaging. Still, I prefer that now to the moronic orders we get.

I thought the same thing about Brian. People drop off orders on the way to work and expect to pick them up at lunchtime. Or drop at lunch and pick up after work. Either way, he's going to actually have to run jobs. In theory. I'm sure he finagle his way out of it. Probably whine about needing more key-ops during the day or something. Rat Bastard.
